Allegra precaution

Do not take Allegra if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. Do not exceed the recommended dose or take Allegra for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Allegra may cause dizziness. It does not usually cause drowsiness when prescribed under normal circumstances at the recommended doses. However, these effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. Using Allegra alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines containing additional antihistamines. Allegra may interfere with allergy test results. Check with your doctor for instruction on how long you will need to stop taking Allegra prior to those tests. Use Allegra with caution in the elderly; they may be more sensitive to its effects. For women: if you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and the risks of using Allegra during pregnancy. Allegra is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while using Allegra, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Allegra drug interactions

Check with your doctor before combining Fexofenadine with erythromycin (E.E.S., Ery-Tab, PCE) or ketoconazole (Nizoral). These drugs may increase Fexofenadine's effects.
Fexofenadine should never be taken within 2 weeks of using an MAO-inhibitor drug such as the antidepressants Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate. Also check with your doctor before combining it with the following:
mecamylamine (Inversine)
methyldopa (Aldomet)
reserpine (Diupress, Hydropres)
You should also avoid Fexofenadine if you have a pacemaker and take digoxin (Lanoxin). And you should not combine it with over-the-counter antihistamines and decongestants.

Allegra missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
