No Prescription:
Diovan is one of a new class of blood pressure medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Diovan works by preventing the hormone angiotensin II from narrowing the blood vessels, which tends to raise blood pressure. Diovan may be prescribed alone or with other blood pressure medications, such as diuretics that help the body get rid of excess water. Diovan HCT provides just such a combination. It contains Diovan plus the common diuretic hydrochlorothiazide.
Diovan also has a stimulative effect on the heart and is prescribed for heart failure in patients who can't tolerate another type of medication called ACE inhibitors.
Diovan is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It is also prescribed after heart attacks since Diovan may reduce death in patients who developed congestive heart failure after a heart attack. Diovan may also reduce hospitalizations in patients with congestive heart failure.
Without Prescription:
Diovan - oral treatment which belongs to a class of drugs of the receptor of angiotensin named blockers (ARBs). Others ARBs include irbesartan (Avapro), losartan (Cozaar), and candesartan (Atacand). The angiotensin generated in blood by action of angiotensin, transforming enzyme (ACE), is powerful chemical, which attaches to the receptors of angiotensin found in many fabrics, but first of all on smooth cells of a muscle of blood vessels. Angiotensin? s the appendix on receptors forces blood vessels to be narrowed (vasoconstrict) which are conducted to increase in a blood pressure (hypertension). Diovan blocks a receptor of angiotensin. Blocking action of angiotensin, Diovan expands blood vessels and reduces a blood pressure. Diovan has been approved FDA in December 1996.
This prescription is used to consider a high blood pressure and cardiac arrest. It also is offered after heart attacks since then Diovan can reduce death in patients who developed close cardiac arrest after heart attack.
Diovan can reduce also hospitalization in patients with close cardiac arrest.
