Ziagen

No Prescription:

Ziagen helps to halt the inroads of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Without treatment, HIV gradually undermines the body's immune system, encouraging other infections to take hold until the body succumbs to full-blown acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Ziagen is used in combination with other anti-HIV drugs for the treatment of HIV infection.

Like other anti-HIV drugs, Ziagen holds back the advance of the virus by disrupting its reproductive cycle. This medication is used only as part of a "drug cocktail" that attacks the virus on several fronts. It is not prescribed alone.

Without Prescription:

Ziagen - oral treatment which is used for treatment of infections with a human virus of immune insufficiency (HIV). In a class drugs named change inhibitors transcriptase also include Hivid, Retrovir, Videx, Epivir and Zerit. During an infection from a HIV, the virus of a HIV is multiplied within the limits of cells of a body. Recently - generated viruses then are let out from cells and distributed everywhere on a body where they infect other cells. In this manner, the infection is continuously distributed to new, not infected cells which the body continuously makes, and the infection of a HIV is immortalized. At creation of new viruses, the virus of a HIV should make new DNA for each virus. Change transcriptase is enzyme, that the virus uses to form this new DNA. Definitely, Ziagen is transformed within the limits of a body to its active form (carbovir triphosphate). This active form is similar to structure (deoxyguanosine triphosphate), chemical by which it is required by a virus of a HIV to make new DNA. Change transcriptase uses carbovir triphosphate instead of deoxyguanosine triphosphate to make DNA, and it - carbovir triphosphate which collides with change transcriptase. Ziagen does not kill an existing virus of a HIV, and it - not treatment for a HIV. FDA has approved Ziagen in December 1998.

This prescription is used in a combination with another anti-HIV drugs for treatment of an infection of a HIV.
